We are partners of Petco's Love Lost to help reunite pets with their owners. Below are the steps you should take if you have lost or found a pet on their site:
- Click HERE to get started.
- Click on Get Started.
- Create an Account. This is so you can be contacted in the event your pet is found, or the finder of the lost pet is located.
- Upload a picture of your lost or found pet. This is essential as Love Lost uses facial recognition and helps to match the pet to any other pets listed as lost or found already.
- Choose if the pet is a lost or found pet.
- Continue completing the information about the pet depending on if it is lost or found, the location, etc.
- This pet will be uploaded into a database that will help you locate your lost pet or reunite this pet with its owner.
- If you have lost a pet, the database will continuously rerun your lost search and notify you if your pet has been found, allowing you to continue your search without having to constantly check the database.
If your own pet is safe at home, you can still add them to the Love Lost site in the event they ever go missing. Once added, you just have to change the pet's status from "Safe at Home" to "Lost" and you are steps ahead!
If your pet has gone missing or you have found a pet, here are places you should check in addition to the shelter closest to you:

- Check on our local Facebook Lost Pets Page or on the Keys Lost & Found Page for the missing pet.
- Check on Next Door:
- Walk around the area the pet has gone missing and ask locals if they have seen it or the area it was found to see if anyone recognizes it.
If your pet was brought to our Key West or Marathon Campus, the following fees may incur. Please bring cash or a check to compensate for these fees as we do not accept credit cards for Monroe County fees.
Boarding Fees:
- If your pet stays overnight or for several days, there is a boarding charge of $10 per night.

- If your pet is current on its vaccination for Rabies the fee is $25.
