Images Style Guide
Image Sizes for Modules The following are recommendations for images to be used across the site including banners and inline images.
Note: Do not upload raw digital camera files into WordPress without first formatting the image or at least downscaling it. Digital cameras and modern phone cameras can produce high resolution images sometimes up to 8-10 megabytes. If multiple images are being loaded onto a single page, this can cause extremely slow loading times on mobile connections such as 3G or 4G as well as lower signal wifi.
Note: WordPress offers you the option to crop images to fit certain content containers, so focus on the image composition when choosing how to format them. For example, if you are selecting an image to use in a square box area, make sure that the focal point of the image is centered in the image. If you are selecting an image to use in a landscape oriented box area, make sure that you are following the "Rule of 3s".
