Gypsy overcame the odds!
Update in from one of our special cats from Marathon, Gypsy the 3 legged cat! Her mom Kirrin says:
“I wanted to take a moment to give you a quick update on miss Gypsy. In April of 2019 she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. When I moved last December, I started looking into the i131 treatment for her, and found a highly recommended facility just about 20 miles south of me. This past September Gypsy was cleared for treatment.
It was a brutal 14 days after she came back not being able to cuddle with her or love on her, but we survived. Which leads me to where we are today. On Monday she finally had her post i131 bloodwork to determine if treatment worked.. and it did! Her thyroid levels are right where they should be and her kidneys are looking great as well (the medicine she was on for the thyroid masked true kidney values). She is just a tiny little 6.14lb kitty but the vets gave her a clean bill of health. I am so relieved and excited. She is loving life up here in her big house with a long hall way for sprinting, but most of all she enjoys sleeping, lying next to me and all her catnip toys.”
We are so happy for Gypsy and her incredibly dedicated furmom for going the distance to make sure Gypsy’s needs were met so she can go on to live a happy and fulfilling life!
