Over 365 days ago Gregg was found by Good Samaritans as a stray in Marathon. As a young, handsome, black and white cow-dog, we never could've imagined that an entire year would pass by without any interest in Gregg. As the days wore on, the once smiling, energetic, bright eyed dog was slowly being replaced with a much quieter, more defeated version. The light was slowly fading as the days wore on.

 

Our fantastic staff and volunteers noticed Gregg seemed "off." He would resist going in his kennel, or resist going outside. It was easy to tell he was giving up and just wanted to be left alone. We weren't about to let that happen! We switched up his routine, boosted his enrichment and some really cool volunteers started taking him on more adventures, like to the beach or Crane point for some off Campus fun. He even got a cheeseburger, or two. Heck, our own Animal Control Officer deputized him for a day on the road helping fight crime!
