Meet Ada. Ada was found as a stray in terrible condition when she was brought to Keys Animal Hospital to check for a microchip. The senior German Shepherd was frail and thin, with wobbly back legs, a sloped back, and a huge lump on her side. At an estimated 9 years old, Ada was not spayed and was going into heat! Even at her age, and in her condition, our fantastic Veterinary team was able to successfully spay Ada and remove the giant mass.

While we waited for the results of the mass, Ada went home with Dr. Kirra for some much needed R&R. What was supposed to be a weekend foster turned into an adoption! While Dr. Kirra was caring for Ada at the Marathon Veterinary Hos[pital she fell in love! The good Doctor will now be sharing her home and heart with this beautiful girl and will be caring for all of her medical – and emotional – needs from here on in.
