A “Tiny” Dog With A Big Heart

Good morning and welcome to Adoption Update Monday! This is a weekly series where we highlight past adopters and their stories! Today’s updates comes to us from Tiny’s family who adopted him ten years ago:

“Ten years ago, my wife and I stopped in to check out a dog that my employer wanted a second opinion on. We already had one dog of our own and shared custody of a few more. As we walked to the pen to do our meet and greet with the senior pit bull I was watching his reaction to the small dogs playing in the dog run. He seemed a little too interested, so we passed on that news.

About three days later, over breakfast, my wife, Debbie says, “Let’s go see that little brown dog.” I knew exactly which one. We had not even mentioned him at the time. Neither knew that the other had even seen him. So straight from breakfast to the shelter. He was so timid in the kennel. We sat at the chain link door for 20 minutes waiting for him to come sniff and retreat. Our meet and greet (meet and treat) went fine so the application went in immediately. He’s been great. Since then he’s lived in Key West, Martha’s Vineyard and Los Angeles. Traveling by car, plane, boat and bus with never an issue. He has a little sister now (Mellie) and a few larger dog friends in the extended family. We couldn’t ask for a better pup.”
